Erasmus +

For over 25 years, Northgate High School and Dereham Sixth Form College have been part of an exciting and successful partnership with schools across Europe.

The British Council and European Union are funding a two-year collaboration between Northgate High School and Dereham Sixth Form College and three partner schools in Bulgaria, Germany and the Netherlands focusing on raising aspirations of young people.

In 2021/22 Northgate and Dereham Sixth Form students have been working on a renewable energy project, ‘Humans First’, with schools in Spain, Italy and Germany.

Students completed experiments and research projects about different sources of renewable energy. You can see the presentation they gave on their findings here

As part of the project students will visit Germany and Italy to explore more about renewable energy in other countries.

In March 2019, Northgate High School and Dereham Sixth Form College hosted 50 visiting students and staff who participated in the partnership’s bi-annual European Arts Festival.

Students from The Netherlands, Germany and Bulgaria joined with Dereham students in a weekend of exciting and inspiring opportunities celebrating the Arts and developing skills and confidence in working and learning together.
