Thank you to Barbara D’Arts and Michael Rose from Dementia Friendly Dereham for speaking to our Year 7 and 8 students in their assembly this morning (Tuesday 19th March). Our visitors explained to students about Dementia and the work that the group are doing in the local community to help people effected.
We are also very proud to have had the opportunity to present Dementia Friendly Dereham with a £500 cheque, which has been raised by students and staff.
The money we raised will be going towards helping to buy a Tovertafel (‘magic table’), which uses interactive light projections to help stimulate people with special care needs.
Mrs D’Arts, volunteer at Dementia Friendly Dereham, said: “Thank you for your warm welcome this morning and for the very generous cheque. The students’ behaviour was a credit to the school and made our visit that much more enjoyable. Thank you for the continuing support and hope we have the opportunity to work together on projects in the future.”
