[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Northgate High School’s Head Boy, David and Head Girl, Katy were invited to a special event on Friday 3rd May at Norwich Castle to celebrate and recognise the year in office of Councillor Margaret Stone, Chair of Norfolk County Council. They were joined by Heads of School, Mrs Galley and Dr Hone as well as Mr MacDonald and Dereham Mayor, Hillary Bushell.
It was a fantastic opportunity for David and Katy, who were personally invited by Councillor Stone and we are incredibly proud to have been the only school in Norfolk to have been invited and represented at the evening.
Councillor Stone said: “Katy and David, represent all that is good in our High Schools today and rarely articulated. This school has an outstanding ethos of togetherness and pride in each other. An ethos which encourages every pupil to aim high and achieve the absolute best they can, both for their community and for themselves. It is clear that this is an outstanding school with inspirational teachers and aspirational students. A great role model for others to emulate.”
David and Katy also had the opportunity to meet with and chat informally to The Lord Mayor of Norwich, Martin Schmierer and General The Lord Dannatt GCB CBE MC DL, former Head of the British Army, about their experiences at Northgate and their forthcoming GCSE’s. Everyone they spoke with was very impressed with the way they have represented the school and wished them well with their GCSEs and beyond.
