Today marked the end of Movember for this year and what a year it has been! Mr Darlow, Mr Lea, Mr Malin, Mr Llewellyn, Mr Jones and Mr Carter have been growing moustaches, baking cakes, creating quizzes and badgering other members of staff, family and long lost friends alike in an attempt to raise awareness and money for the Movember Foundation. With suicides being the leading cause of death in men aged 15-49 and one man losing their life to prostate cancer every 45 minutes in the UK, the money raised will help projects that the foundation work with to try and reduce the number of men dying too young. We hope that by raising awareness of prostate and testicular cancer, delivering guidance on how to support friends or family with mental health issues and providing a safe environment for students to talk and express their feelings, we can help save the lives of our fathers, brothers, sons, friends and loved ones.
Thanks for the incredible generosity of everyone who has supported the mo bros and donated. Team Northgate has managed to raise an outstanding £1068.60 for the Foundation, and ranks us as number 18 in participating schools in the UK! This epitomises the spirit and caring nature of Northgate, a feat that everyone involved should be immensely proud of! Congratulations to Ms Titchen who won the Movember Quiz and walked away with the top prize, with Mr Jones coming in as runner-up.
Thank you for all your support and may next year be bigger and bushier than before!Â
