On Monday 22nd May we took 13 year 9 students to visit the Norwich Games Festival at the Forum in Norwich. The students started the day with a talk from Game developer Tommy Thompson who explained to students about how he got into the games industry and allowed them to ask him questions.

Students then participated in a workshop where they had the opportunity to design and create their own game controlled, students game up with a range of different ideas including the gaming glove.

After lunch students were working in groups to design their own Computer game and were talked through the stages involved.

To conclude the day students were given the opportunity to explore the history of the games console by playing on consoles from different generations.

One student in particular commented “The trip was an amazing experience and had a great time”.
