Year 9 student Robyn recently had a dramatic haircut, and below she tells us more about why she decided to get it cut.
“I was a bit fed up with having long hair and my friend Paige playing with it all the time! Then I saw some pictures on Social Media of people with Cancer – and they were children aged between 5 and 9, and I felt really upset. A few days later my mum told me about The Little Princess Trust – a charity which makes wigs out of hair for people having chemotherapy. I decided that’s what I was going to do: get my hair cut and donate my hair.
On the day of the haircut I felt happy that I was doing something to help. I thought about the people’s faces when they got their new hair.
I would encourage other people who are thinking of having their long hair cut to do it and donate.”
