Our students have the opportunity to take part in a number of fieldtrips to help with their courses across a range of different subjects. Back in November the Year 8s took a trip into Norwich as part of their Geography curriculum.

Freya tells us all about the day: ‘On Monday 19th November Year 8 went on a trip to Norwich to do a field work investigation to see the public’s point of view on Norwich, what was good and what Norwich could be improved on. Overall the public loved Norwich whereas a couple didn’t like Norwich because of the increase in pollution.

As we got nearer the end, we did a foot count in busy areas, where we found that Gentlemen’s Walk was the busiest. Some areas got over 150 people passing through one place in one minute – it was very crowded. On the way back the bus we did a fun activity where we had to find hidden signs and statues, it was quite hard.

At lunch time we went to the market and we had some delicious fish and chips! Overall it was a great day out and I would recommend it to the Year 7s. We had lots of fun and learnt a lot about the public’s point of view of Norwich and I would definitely go again.’

A big thank you to the Geography Department for organising the trip and giving our students the opportunity to put their class work into practice.
