In June lots of our Year 8 students had the chance to visit the Brecon Beacons on a residential trip. Lewis, Freya and Ryan tell us about their adventures:

‘On Friday 21st June we went to the Brecon Beacons in Wales. We did lots of different activities which included high ropes, zip wires, archery targets, crate stacking, team building exercises and katabush (canoeing and bush crafts). Despite some rain it didn’t dampen our spirits and we have a great time. Our favourite activity of the trip was the hill climb – there were some spectacular views!

In the evenings we played lots of games and on one night we had a disco and made a campfire. Later on in the evening we sang lots of traditional campfire songs. Sometimes in our free time we challenged the staff of Acorn Adventure to a game of basketball (we won!)

On Monday 24th it was time to go home (we were quite sad). Even though the journey home was fun we all enjoyed our time away but couldn’t wait to get back into our own beds.

We want to say a big thank you to Mrs Nimmock for organising the trip and all the other staff because it wouldn’t have been possible without you!’
